Stoptober is back for 2019!
On the 1st October, we will be launching Stoptober in Oxfordshire and our team of stop smoking advisors will be working across the county to encourage locals to join the 28day challenge to quit smoking and ‘split up’ with cigarettes!
We are hosting roadshows and events throughout the month of October reaching out to smokers to give up the habit for good. Stop smoking advisors will be on hand to offer advice and free CO monitoring from the mobile clinic. We offer a free tailor-made programme of support from specialist stop smoking advisors to help smokers to quit.
We will be at the following locations throughout Stoptober:
Templars Square Shopping Centre 26/9/19 10am-2pm
Thame Town (Mobile Clinic) 4/9/19 10am-2pm
Witney Town (Mobile Clinic) 8/9/19 10am-2pm
Westgate Library 15/10/19 10am-2pm
Chipping Norton Market (Mobile Clonic) 23/9/19 10am-2pm.
Stoptober is the annual campaign from Public Health England (PHE) that encourages smokers across the country to join in and give quitting a go during October. Since launching in 2012, Stoptober has driven over 1.9 million quit attempts and is the biggest mass participation quit attempt in the country. Stoptober is based on research that smokers who make it to 28 days smokefree are five times more likely to quit for good. This year’s campaign will encourage smokers to re-evaluate their relationship with smoking and ‘split up’ with cigarettes. For free support to quit smoking contact a stop smoking advisor on 01869 814216 or text QUIT to 66777.
